The cute Yaquina Caput Lighthouse (pronounced "ya-queen-eh" past locals) is located on the Oregon coast just north of Newport and was built in 1872-73. The lighthouse is named after an almost-extinct American Indian Tribe of the same name.
This painting has nigh a "worm's-heart-view" of the famous Yaquina Head Lighthouse every bit the viewer looks up at it. I thought that was an interesting angle. At first, I hesitated to paint the lighthouse since I wasn't sure I could get the angle correct. Notwithstanding, I'grand glad to have overcome my hesitation and decided to pigment the beautiful lighthouse anyway. I beloved how it turned out.
